Soon after settling down in Aix en Provence, Frederic HUTTER devoted some of his free time to painting; at first working under the guidance of JP in Aubagne, then in "l'atelier libre" facilitated by Madeleine Thoubillon de Montcroc and later on by Jacques Letrosne. Some
of his work was shown in Marseilles, Nice and in Aix at the "Galerie des
amis des arts". During the same period, he gathered a vast collection of proverbs, maxims from authors variety of origins and eras. To
illustrate and render more attractive his harvest of texts, he creates lively
and naïve allegories
